Micro and Small Businesses

There was a time when only one small grocery store was in the village. It was in the fifties after independence. Now we have big stores including grocery in large number. There are cloth and garment stores, foot was, ladies’ corners, ornament shops, studios for photo, video and cable connection, refreshment shops, small hotels for meals, saloon, vegetable shops, building material shops and even a brick making Industry from fly ash. Variety and numbers have grown.

Have the entrepreneurs grown financially? Are these businesses sustainable? There is another important section in Rural Business, i.e., Agriculture related machines like tractors, harvesting machines etc. It has to be studied in depth. What more is needed and what is not needed is also to be examined.
